Name: Spider-Man
Real Name: Peter Parker
Education/Occupation: Student at Empire State University/ Freelance Photographer
Known Relatives: May Parker (aunt), Ben Parker (uncle, deceased), Richard Parker (father, deceased), Mary Parker (uncle, deceased)
Age: 20
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 165 lbs.
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Brown
Powers:
Can cling to most any surface. His grip allows him to crawl inside air vents and elevator shafts and hide in corners and on ceilings. His ability to adhere to surfaces helps him avoid deadly falls and can attach himself to basically anything, including moving objects. There are certain substances, which he can not adhere to. Posses the proportionate strength of a common house spider. His spider strength allows him to lift or press 10 to 15 tons. Spider strength makes him deadly in hand-to-hand combat, which is his main form of direct attack. His strength also gives him great amount of physical endurance. He is roughly 15 times more agile than a regular human is. He can also move and react several times faster than an ordinary human. The combination of his acrobatic leaps and web slinging enable him to travel rapidly from place to place. His spider-sense provides an early warning detection system enabling him the ability to evade most any injury, provided he doesn't cognitively override the autonomic reflexes. His spider-sense gives him an itching feeling at the base of his skull whenever danger is near. The sensation this power gives helps him to 'focus-in' on the source of the danger acting as a guiding radar. It also warns him of potential danger, such as a hidden weapon or a disguised enemy. His spider sense can very rarely be tricked or beaten.
He has created a webbing material with huge tensile strength, which was sticky on extrusion, dries on contact with the air, and dissolves in approximately one hour. The webbing is held in cartridges that he loads into web shooters that wrap around his wrist and are triggered by two finger taps on the button in the palm of his hand. By varying the nature of the pressure, and by adjusting the nozzles on the spinnerets, different forms of webbing can be achieved. His web shooting only last as long as he has cartridges and can be broken.
History:
When Peter Parker was very young his parents Richard and Mary Parker left him to stay with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May at their home in Forest Hills, Queens as they left for a plane trip over seas. But when a plane crash killed his parents Peter was orphaned. His Aunt and Uncle would take him in and gladly raise as if he were their own. Young Peter had a natural gift for science that was nothing short of genius. His Uncle also instilled in him a love of comedy and the art of a good practical joke. Socially, however, he was always painfully shy and awkward. At Midtown High School he became the target of much cruelty by his peers.
At age fifth teen Peter was attending a public science exhibit when, he was accidentally bitten on the hand by a radioactive spider that had unknowingly been irradiated by a particle beam. Peter left the demonstration feeling sick. Outside an oncoming car spooked Peter who jumped higher then humanly possible and found himself clinging to the wall. He discovered that the spider bite had empowered him with the arachnid's proportional strength and agility, the ability to cling to almost any surface as well as a sixth sense that provided him with early warning of impending danger.
Disguised in a makeshift costume Peter tested his newfound abilities defeating professional wrestler Crusher Hogan in the ring, and earning some cash. With his scientific prowess, Peter managed to construct a pair of artificial web-shooters that attached to his wrists. With the money Peter designed and made a real costume, and gave himself a new name Spider-Man. Spider-Man became an instant hit making appearances on television. Blinded by the praise and money he was receiving Peter vowed to use his powers only to take care of himself and his aunt and uncle. After his first TV special ended, a burglar robbed the station. Spider-Man allowed the burglar that he could have easily restrained to run right past him and escape. Later, Peter returned home to find his beloved Uncle Ben had been shot and killed. Hearing the police say that the killer had been tracked to the old Acme Warehouse at the waterfront, Spider-Man raced to confront him. He easily disarmed and defeated the crook but he discovered to his horror that his uncle's murderer was the very same burglar he had apathetically allowed to pass him at the TV station. Racked with guilt, vowed to follow the advice his Uncle had once given him, that with great power must also come great responsibility.
Trying to use his powers responsible Peter began fighting crimes Spider-Man. Spider-Man soon found himself facing a rogue's gallery of powerful thieves, gangsters, and megalomaniacs. To help his now widowed Aunt May with the finances, Peter took a freelance photographer job at the Daily Bugle selling pictures of himself as Spider-Man to publisher J. Jonah Jameson. Using his pictures Jonah lead a campaign against Spider-Man in his paper leading him to be mistrusted and feared by the public. At school, his popularity was no greater, as Peter frequently clashed with bully Flash Thompson and his followers.
At home, Aunt May suffered a heart attack. May's fragile health and poor finances, however, became a lingering concern.
Peter Parker's confidence has gradually increased as he graduated high school and earned a science scholarship to Empire State University for achieving the highest scholastic average in Midtown High's history. College has brought a fresh start with new peers including Harry Osborn, and Gwen Stacy. Flash Thompson has also come to ESU on an athletic scholarship. While Aunt May has persisted with attempts to introduce Peter to Mary Jane Watson, the niece of neighbor Anna Watson.
Peter is working hard to balance his new social life, his academic studies, his financial work all with taking on the heavy responsibilities that his powers have given him as Spider-Man.
